The stockings are ready.

 Finn's stocking is finished with six days to spare.  I've had the materials to make him a stocking since the beginning of November, but just found the time to work on it this weekend.  I miss crafting/sewing/creating.  It took me a little longer than expected, probably because I'm out of practice.  Below are a few pictures of the finished product.  I can't wait to help him hang it on the mantle on Christmas Eve!

 After finishing Finn's stocking, I began to feel guilty for never making Gretzky one.  We've been using a store bought stocking for him for six years.  I had plenty of leftover materials, so I whipped one together for him as well.

 I removed the bell from Gretzky's store bought stocking and attached it to his new stocking.  He knows that bell, and comes running when he hears it ringing.

Cookies, a bath and a birthday

 Today was a great day to stay inside.  It was a pretty chilly 4 degrees, so I spent the day baking Christmas cookies.  I baked two kinds of spritz, monster cookies, and chocolate drop cookies.

 

 After baking for several hours, we took a break to give the boy a bath.  As you can see, he's at the stage where everything goes in his mouth.

 I also have to acknowledge what a special day it is in our family.  It's Gretzky's 7th birthday!  He spent it by laying in front of the fire and chewing on his new bone.

Photo Shoot

Thanks to Aunt Theresa, we had a little photo shoot with Finn today.  Hopefully one of these great shots will turn into our Christmas card for this year.  Here are a few highlights from today.  Oh, and Finn just happens to be wearing the hat and sweater that Theresa knit for him.  Adorable.

Pretty Pillows

Since the husband is away at a golf tournament all day, I thought I'd whip up a few pillows for the daybed in the nursery. I still had some leftover fabric from the headboard and embroidery hoop project, so thats what I used. The striped pillow is backed with the green fabric, and the houndstooth pillow is backed with the headboard fabric. It wan't a very difficult or impressive project, but it will be nice to have those fabrics represented elsewhere in the room.

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend, and had some fun with our new Cornhole game.

And amazingly, the flowers I planted about a month ago are still alive!

Cozy Quilt

I finally finished binding my quilt! Gretzky and I are happy with the finished product.

Gretzky's New Bed

Gretzky has been hanging out with me in my craft room a lot lately.  I thought it was about time he had a comfy place to relax.  He seemed to always curl up in the same spot, so I made him a little bed that fit perfectly in that place.  Now he has a little area in my craft room all to himself!

Gretzky's Bed

Above is one of three beds that I made for our pup, Gretzky.  The one he is laying on in the picture above, is in our kitchen.  There is also one in our bedroom and one in the basement.  When we first brought Gretzky home, I had a hard time finding nice dog beds that weren't ridiculously expensive.  So I decided to make my own!  I made the covers using velcro as the closure so that they could be easily removed and washed.  Inside the cover is two bed pillows that I put side by side and wrapped in batting.  This project was very easy and the pup loves curling up on them!
