Hello San Diego

I spent the afternoon yesterday on Coronado, and this is the bridge we had to take to get over there. It looked pretty long, but it wasn't so bad.

We parked right outside the Hotel del Coronado and spent the day on their grounds. We had a little lunch, did a little shopping and took a walk on the beach.

The hotel was built in 1888 and is said to be haunted by several ghosts. The most famous ghost is of a pregnant Kate Morgan who checked into the hotel in 1892 under the name Lottie Anderson Bernard. She spent five nights in her room waiting for her husband to join her before shooting herself in the head on the steps to the beach. Another pregnant woman, said to be the mistress of the hotel builder and owner, took her life at the hotel. There have been many strange occurrences in the hotel, including the ghosts of a little boy and girl running up and down the stairs and hallways of the hotel.

Me on the beach.

I've had fun exploring San Diego so far. I think we're heading back to Coronado today, and spending this evening in the Gaslamp Quarter.
